I snapped this picture on Sunday at the local motion launch. I don't usually have my camera out and handy to photograph fellow cyclists. Usually when I do see a particularly beautiful lady, she's come and gone by the time I get to pulling out my camera!
I just thought this girl looked stunning. She looks so happy and easy going, just enjoying the hell out of her weekend.

I've noticed that countryside stands still ... giving me time to get out my camera. I understand the problem.
It's great that you were able to get this foto! :-)
I don't have anything much to say, except that your blog makes me really really happy. I recently started reading your blog, and I love that you love bikes, you teach piano, you have a lovely marriage, and you wear lots of dresses while you ride. Plus, the whole riding-while-pregnant thing rocked; you are an inspiration to all girls who know that bikes + femininity don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Also, happy new baby! He is adorable.
Hi Sarah - I agree this is a great shot - makes me long for summer days over here in chilly Melbourne OZ. I came across your blog this week and have now read all your posts - you've really inspired me to start my own which I did last night - but I was wondering - when you take pics of 'strangers' do you ask their permission to put it on your blog?
Cheers,
I'm still learning...
Set your smile on STUN!
Grass! Trees! Pretty Girls!
imagine how happy she'd be if she was riding it! I mean, she's missing out on the best bit!
Sarah, I thought the ladies should know about these terrific cycling capes.

She is stunning. Then again, so are you. ;)
I'm of basically the same mind as you are as far as "cycling clothing" goes. I do own a couple of jerseys but they're exclusively for recreational rides and rides of unusual length (25+ km one way); otherwise, I wear street clothes, whatever I intend to wear at my destination.
One thing I have that's come in handy, though, is a pair of "biking underwear." In effect, it's a pair of "lycra biking shorts" with the appropriate padding that are meant to be worn under street clothes. The advantage is, if I'm going somewhere far away but I need to wear street clothes there, I just put on these and they keep my butt comfortable in the saddle on my way to and from a place and act as ordinary underwear otherwise. ;)
Other than that, I don't have any special equipment and, even so, when the mood strikes me, I can and have occasionally kept pace with a "racer" for extended distances. I just don't make a habit of it; pushing yourself until you're exhausted and sore is not my idea of a fun ride... ;)
