Or so I am told. I am dying for Don to do the retrofit for Dexter's car seat as all the snow has melted for a little while. Don is very busy. I'm even willing to postpone important household to-do things like put siding on the front of the bungalow again in favour of Madsen play time. We'll see what sort of mood he is in when he gets back from walking Dougal.
I would just like to add that all the TV shows where they show people painting a room in about an hour or doing an entire renovation in a week? LIES. Doing things properly often takes way more time than one might anticipate. Sigh. But, having to do things two or three times over in order to fix a hasty job is also not a valuable way to spend time.
So what would make Miss Sarah happy? House renovating and bike retrofitting that is:
1. Excellent Quality.
2. Fast and efficient.
3. Without unforeseen complications.
4. Of minimal expense (monetary and emotional).
I'm skeptical about whether this even exists!
I would just do it myself, except I'm not handy with tools. And my limited arm span isn't ideal for handling large sheets of plywood. And it wouldn't be so super professional and awesome as Don's finished product.
So here I am on a Sunday morning while Dexter is napping. Drinking a coffee while sitting in the Madsen's tub. Waiting...
I've also called dibs on riding the bike first, with or without the baby in it. I know that seems childish. But for some reason the thought of somebody else riding it first just makes me sad.

Ah, and here's a picture of me explaining my zombie dream last night to a friend. In the dream I was bit on the hand by a zombie dog while I was trying to close a door on its rabid zombie muzzle. I didn't feel like I was getting sick or dying and proceeded to have a fierce moral dilemma about whether I should get somebody to shoot me then, or wait until I felt sick and dying-like. I wasn't sure if zomb-dogs were infectious!
After my other post about zombies, our friend got Dexter this onesie from the Deadmonton festival.

Just waiting to hear your feedback on riding the Madsen.
Looks like you are a kid with a new toy ... im-patiently waiting to play with it!
:-)
There is a popular quip among programmers, designers, etc:
You can have it fast, cheap, or good/done right. Pick two.

Well, at least we know that you will make a cute Madsen passenger. Hopefully you'll be in the driver's seat, soon!
The cream color is so pretty; I was expecting baby blue like their website.
Dexter is getting so big! Must be all the brains he's eating :)
Oh I am impatient as well. I wanna hear all about it. hears to hoping that don is working on it right now!
I too await a report on riding the Madsen. I'm still reading, but don't have much to say, being completely inexperienced with both little ones and renovations.
(PS: I always loved that advertisement that you mom modeled for. Apparently style runs in the family!)
Dottie - The vintagey blue one is totally cute, but I think the cream goes with more of my clothes. It's neutral:)
MamaV - He WOULD be working on it, if we hadn't gotten REAR ENDED this afternoon while out getting the supplies. I don't want to say too much yet, before we've dealt with insurance. Dexter was in the back seat. Thank goodness he's okay, but Don's neck is messed up.
David - I know good and right is the way to go but... it seems like it takes an eternity! But in the long run I do suppose it's a much better return on investment.
Crap! Hoping D's neck feels better soon. So glad Dexter is ok. take good care.

Your big box reminded me of a childrens book I absolutely adored as a child. "Christina Katerina and the Box". Its about these two kids that do these wonderfully creative things with a large fride box. Definately a must have in your childs library.
You look good back there. Looks like the Madsen could serve as a complete family ride. Mom or Dad cycling with other parent & Dexter in the back.
Awesome smile in that last snap.
