Adventures With Bryce.

My house guest and I went out for some adventures today!

He went for my Amsterdam, put up the saddle, and we set out on our cream bikes. Had to put Madsen to good use with the dry roads.

Happy at the stop light.

I apologized for riding slowly, but Bryce commented that it was the perfect speed because he could ride beside and we could actually talk.

Did some shopping on the avenue.

Picked up a card for my sister's birthday.

Salivated over amazing repetto shoes that I do not need.

Bryce bought Campers.

Dexter takes after his dad. Appalled that Bryce and I can find shoes so interesting.

Had brunch at New York Bagel Cafe where the house coffee is SO good. French toast!

Biking around with a good friend makes ordinary stuff feel like a special occasion.

It has been a happy Thursday. Now I have to go play the mbira Bryce brought. He just finished teaching Don three basic patterns. Having Bryce around always results in the most random experiences...

You're so right - cycling with friends makes everything more special. Dexter's look is priceless. Oh, and your dress!!!

But you may need those shoes you never can tell. What if a shoe-aholic robber with a breaks into your house and steals all of your shoes except those because the dye that they used in those fabulous shoes caused and allergic reaction. Then you would at least have two pairs of shoes left.

Wait. . . that is pretty weird. Perhaps I spend too much time coming up with reasons I need to buy more shoes. I think I may be a shoe-aholic. Don't worry though I won't come and steal your shoes, I promise. I don't wear leather. Oh and I don't steal. I am a huge dork though apparently.

Anyway it seems like you three had a lovely time.

ACK! I just realized you had Dex in the madsen!!! woot. how was it? ( I'm trying to talk my friend into getting one. she just had her third child and they are a nice flat stretch from town and I think biking distance from school. She was biking last year while pregnant b/c it was the only way they could get from school to her daughter's after school sewing class. 2 yr old was in seat... but not sure what she's doing with the three. probably back to double stroller and 6 yr old on a bike?

happy friend day!

Hi Sarah,

Very nice to see your new retrofit cargo bike is getting you and Dexter around town. I ran across this article while persuing my morning pleasure of reading Bust online and thought you may want to comment on it.

Sorry, I can't hyperlink it. Check it out! It's great!

Let me be the first of many to say I love the striped skirt! Is that another Anthro piece?

Dottie - I really like that skirt, it's 3-4 years old, but has lots of panels so when you sit down it doubles as a picnic blanket.

Cosmo - I know. I MAY need them. There is actually one pair that is $200 less expensive and I want MORE. So we'll see how this all works out.

Mama - Isn't it ridiculous? How hard it is for a lady with kids to get around WITHOUT a car? I find it immensely frustrating. Maybe your friend can do baby in Madsen, middle kid on the front in a seat, and the 6 year old on his own bike? Or I've seen cargo bikes with a huge rack on the front and long tail on the back. Maybe 2 kid seats on the back and the car seat for the baby strapped to the front thing?

Kim - Thanks for the link!

dag - Skirt isn't from Anthro, from H&M in Paris. But, I saw the same skirt in North America too.

sara - The shoes are comfy, but they actually don't really fit. Too big! The straps keep everything in.

eliza - Shoes are H&M too:)

Wow, that's an awesome skirt!

GeekGirl - It has crazy panels so if I spin around it's like a helicopter of stripes. Got it in Paris.
