I was ecstatic when Crystal asked me if I was free to go to the ballet this Friday. I was actually supposed to go to a work-related dinner with Don, but he was understanding when I said I was going to the ballet with Crystal and Bryce instead. It's Romeo and Juliet, which is not my favourite tragedy, but Prokofiev I LOVE Prokofiev.
Bryce and I rode my bikes to the auditorium and had quite the ordeal locking up. Good news is the recent renovations to the venue include bike racks! Bad news is that we were trying to lock up both our swoop tube frames with one standard sized u-lock. We actually managed to get it done.
Here's Bryce punching the cross light at an intersection.

I love that the Pashley has lights all included. Great for night riding.

The performance was wonderful. Even though I tire of the R&J story, the athleticism of the dancing is really amazing. And I always love live orchestra. So great.
Crystal is a lovely ballet companion.

Here's my outfit at home, without the outdoor layers on. Crystal actually found this dress for me when we were out shopping a few weeks ago.

A new hair band that my mom bought for me.

New pewter satin shoes with bows. Surprisingly comfortable!

I've commented on this before, but the thing I love most about biking to these events is all the incredulous stares I get while I ride away and all the cars are lined up going nowhere fast. Ha!

love the hair band! the whole outfit actually.
Pretty! When did mom get that hairband for you! I like your pewter shoes too!
Hi. Are the tires on the Pashley glow-in-the-dark?
wonderful! I love ballet too, both classic and modern interpretations ;) now that my mum is back working here I look forward to more theatre visits with her, it's always so much fun! I still remember the first one she took me to, when I was a little girl, "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky, enchanting! :) L x
Looking great. Terrific dress & your mom rocks (yet again, not just for taking D overnight but for purchasing cool accessories for you!).
Mama - Thanks!
Sable - Um... a few weeks ago?
dagmara - The tires have reflective stripes all around them... they're schwable marathons? I'm not sure I spelt that correctly...
Lorenza - I love modern ballet! I think more than classical... but only because some of the classical pieces look so predictable.
Sara - Yeah, my mom is really representing. Both with child care and with hooking me up with pretty things. She's a complicated lady:)
I love my Princess Sovereign too. The lights are so convenient when I ride to the station at 7am every weekday!
Sheer poetry. Pashley goes to the Ballet. You both look fantastic. And there is romance in having to be all bundled up too!
I think I am inspired to go book some ballets to go see...
Gorgeous!
The glowing wheels remind me of halos :)
