Yup, that's me! Talk about a photo which is sort of a blast from the past. Thanks to you guys for bringing it to my attention. I don't actually get the paper. I'm just surprised that it's all over the wire. Flattering to have representation in all our major Canadian cities.
I've since then given that helmet to Leanne because it looks great on her with her blue Amsterdam.
I am no longer pregnant.
I still wear those shoes.
But, I hate how my hem is caught in the heel! How the hell did I not notice that? It sort of makes me look like I'm wearing skinny jeans and skinny jeans were not a good pregnant look for me. Oh well, I still think I look healthy and that's the point of the article.
Regardless, I think that picture was taken at around 34 weeks so Dexter was born a month after I was photographed.
So, yeah. Did you know that climate change is real? Some people actually argue that it's made up. You know, just a term that we hippies use to try to scare hard working tax payers into becoming socialists. Sigh.
Climate change is happening. And it would be prudent to think of the consequences, as outlined in this article. At the end of the day it's all of us who are going to suffer and it's our health on the line. Try to forego the car on occasion. One small step for man... might equal one big step for mankind!
I like to be optimistic.
(P.S. I know I'm supposed to credit the photo and it's driving me crazy that I don't remember the guy's name. He was super nice and also happened to attend Don's campaign party when we won the election. So sorry.)

Hear! Hear!
I love that they used that photo of you - it's such a great one!
(My mom doesn't believe that climate change is caused by human activity. I work in a Sustainabilty Office. We can't talk about such things, or my head will explode.)
Hear! Hear! from me too?
You know what drives me even more insane about this "it's not real" malarchy???!!! The fact that by being a little more green, i.e. use the car less, switch off lights, buy less packaged stuff that goes to landfill, take more showers less baths etc... one can save a small fortune!! So not only one would help the planet, but would help also the bank account too!! so it's a win win situation really ;)
but yea, let's be optimistic!!! L x
I skimmed the article first and thought you'd been interviewed as an expert. Funny that the interviewee was another Chan!
I love that photo though...you look so purposeful and happy.
What a beautiful photo! I've been reading your blog for a couple of months and you are definitely part of the inspiration that made me recently go buy a bike. I do ride it for my little errands. That is, until I get panniers and can ride it for my big errands. :) Also my husband was so jealous we had to get a bike for him as well. Thank you.
Surely I believe in climate change. I also believe in lack of space, especially in urban areas. And I also believe that some "exercise" is good for everyone. Some people just never try and will never found out what they are missing. Cause it feels so good too!
Lovely picture, by the way. Makes cycling look so easy and natural, just as it is :).
Cycling is excellent aerobic exercise. It does not place undue stress on the body, but enables a good workout, which will reduce the risk of heart disease, and other illnesses associated with lack of fitness..
On your first day, cycle a block or cycle to work at a medium pace. Don't try to race there - you will tire yourself out and you'll be in no state to hit the office. Likewise its important to ease yourself in to an exercise programme, particularly if you haven't been overly active for a few years or you're looking to shift excess weight. With the coming days boost your intensity and your distance on your cycling regime, to start building up your fitness levels and to get you moving and burning calories and fat. Ultimately keep going up in intensity as your body can handle in order to leave you with the perfect introduction to a fitness for cycling programme.

Cycling is a good activity..thanks for sharing
I'm finishing up building myself a trike.
A cargo bike and another one are on the drawing board. You never have too many bicycles ... until your spouse starts making you get rid of some of them. :)
