People who hate the fact that I sometimes don't wear a helmet... celebrate! I ordered a Bern winter helmet a few weeks ago and it's finally here. Yay!
I was afraid the white one would make me look like a storm trooper from Star Wars, but it was the only one in my size that was a solid colour.

Don also got one to go with his winter karate monkey bike. It looks really good! I'm jealous that his is matte. He is jealous that mine has air vents.

They are both lined.

Can't wait to take it on the road!

I have the muse (matte, no holes) version and like it very much, although I've been contemplating a version with holes for summer wear. I love the little brim- it gives them a jaunty air- a little equestrian influence
I painted mine with the glass bead paint that they use on signs in an effort to make it more reflective. I can't say it made it THAT much more reflective, but it gave it a nice suede texture that I like very much.
I lost my winter insert, but I find it quite warm even without.
Nice! I have one that i use mostly for polo and it fits great. I think you can take the goggle holder off if you dont want it there too.
One thing i noticed is the shiny finish get scratched pretty easily.
Also, a little plug for BikeBike - we will be selling these if anyone you know needs one.
cheers!
Cycler - I love the brim on my usual non-winter helmet, which is why I insisted on having one on my winter one too. Sometimes it's just perfect for keeping blinding sun off my eyes.
BikeBike - Sweet to hear you're going to be carrying these!
Bike polo looks so un-miss sarah... but I'm probably going to try it sometime. Without heels.
I'm absolutely going to get goggles... I think it will look badass!
Scratching is okay. It's like when you first get your MacBook and it's pristine. Once it gets scratched you can really start to enjoy it:)
Looks cute. Will look forward to seeing a snap of it on. Good line about storm troopers....
Currently there are five, yes five, Bern helmets in my home: two for me (one summer/one winter) and a winter lined one for each of my boys. Very happy with ALL of them.
Hi Sarah
Almost bought one of these in the fall to wear when riding the Pashley, but concerned it might be too hot - so used to road bike helmets with lots of holes. I'll be interested in your comments as you break it in. Really enjoying your posts.
: ) I LOVE mine (midnight blue - no air vents - shiny shiny...) you'll feel so dapper in it!
yeah, i have a few different types of helmets and i feel most comfortable (functionally & aesthetically) in my bern. billy hated his for winter biking in edm, sais it was way too hot, but i don't think his had vents. happy riding miss sarah & the don!
Hey Sarah--where did you order these from? Was the sizing chart more or less on-target?
