New Years Eve.

What a wonderful amalgamation of carpooling, transit, and walking to our new years party! It was cold, and every time the door opened it looked like we had set up a smoke machine near the entrance due to the warm air escaping from the house. Here are some pictures of last night's exploits.

I was over at Raffaella's today looking at her photos and videos which much more accurately capture some very colourful aspects of the evening. Perhaps when she gives them to me I shall share with you all. Prepare yourself for imagines of Miss Sarah wearing ridiculous sunglasses and eating cookies in the wee hours of the morning while playing Beatles Rock Band... admittedly embarrassing, but also undeniably amusing.

For the time being, I invite you to my party in spirit! You can celebrate with me vicariously.

It's no surprise that I wore an ostentatious hair ornament.

And you guys have seen this dress before, but here it is again.

This is Dave. He made me a wonderful mixed CD for Christmas. We have plans to write a children's book together, and also start a garage band. That's why I'm all keen to get a keytar.

Leanne. She and I were dynamite on vocals in Rock Band. Melody and harmony, my dear friends.

Raffaella!

We used these glasses as a prop for rap video-like portraits. This is Jag.

We obviously also had to put them on you-know-who.

Another Dave, holding a chip.

Lovely Lisa.

Don with his Christmas vacation beard.

Dougal getting some love and attention from Brit.

Auntie Crystal with baby Dexter!

Justin.

Many guests adjourned to the basement to play vids and lounge on the comfy couch. Leanne was wearing her fur at while singing Back In The USSR in Beatles Rock Band.

We were shooting with a wide angle lens. Hence the Miss Sarah distortion. I like it.

I believe at this point I was waiting for cookies to come out of the oven. It was definitely well past midnight, and I figured we could all use a treat.

Richard and I, bringing you wishes for a wonderful 2010.

May this coming year bring you lots of active and happy living! I got to spend new years eve with many wonderful and genuine friends. However, I get to spend much of my every day with you readers, and for that I am immensely thankful. I can't tell you what a joy it is to continue writing this blog and to have you all visit and read about my life with bikes.

If you've been reading for a while you might have noticed that the direction of this blog has evolved over time. I am so honoured that you continue to spend your time with me and want you to know what a joy it is to be able to share my journeys with you. I really value the sense of community I have found through this venue for my writing and advocacy.

Thank you.

And here's wishing you much goodness and joie de vivre in 2010!

Ladies - Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for being part of my online blog family:)

Milady - I'm so hypocritical, but the thought of Dexter maneuvering himself between white pick up trucks is unfathomable to me. I'm sure we'll get there though, one ride at a time!

Kerri - My sister Sable bought it for me when she was in Dublin. I believe she got it at Penny's for quite the deal. I also have one in black. Speaking of which, I think that will look very good with tonight's outfit!

Wonderful photos! Your hair ornament is so unique, perfect for New Year's. Have you ever worn a fascinator hat? I've been thinking about getting one from a vintage store, but not sure if I'm brave enough to wear one. They are so chic though!
Re: Kona - great idea about the curved handlebars. I didn't know that was possible on a mountain-bike. Now you can kick-ass, hard-core!!

Trisha - Looking forward to LGRAB posts too!

Judith - I have a hat box FULL of fascinators. If you dig through the archives on the blog you're sure to see some:) I've been collecting them for years and although they are mighty ostentatious, I find I don't have to do my hair when I go to an event. Just wear a fascinator! They are admittedly bombastic. And hard to store. I had to hand carry one of my favourite ones all the way back from London. Re: Kona. It was Brent's idea to put those handlebars on. Genius, no?

Dottie - *fist pump*

OK,you've convinced me. Life is too short! Some of my fave etsy stores sell fascinators, I'd better start shopping :)
Brilliant advice from Brent!! Genius!
