Riding the Kona isn't all roses. There are reasons I don't ride a mountain bike on a regular basis.
The riding style of the mountain bike suits the snow. I'm out of the saddle a lot and it's often very bumpy so the bike is fitting for the ride. Very all terrain.
I've been wearing a lot of jeans tucked into boots because my wide legged jeans are bad on a bike with no chain guard. My favourite style jeans are even more highly coveted when they're not very in demand. I don't want to rip my pants! So I had to wear one of these. You have to see it to believe it. Yup. Miss Sarah. With one of those velcro pant things. Thankfully it was dark when I rode this evening so nobody could see (except for people in cars, but who cares about them). I took it off immediately upon dismount. I know it's not a big deal, but it's really not my style.

I also don't like how the mountain bike doesn't have a rack or a basket. I might put a rack on, but I don't think a basket suits the riding style. I'm just wearing a messenger style bag, but I wouldn't like doing this in all seasons. Luckily in the winter I don't suffer from back sweat. And if I have a bag of stuff with me, I just loop it on the handlebars. It's okay for short distances.
Lights. No pretty lights so I can be super visible. I've got a rear light on it. That's about it. It does the job, but it's not very glamourous.
So Kona is great for the winter, but I can't help but wish for the snow to go away so Pashley and I can be reunited again.
However, onto brighter and happier things like today's outfit! A cropped green cable sweater with gold double breasted buttons.

A hairband that sort of looks like a piece of lettuce.

Pink nail polish.

With super comfortable wide legged jeans and a plain grey t-shirt. Oh yeah, curious to see where I work? This is it. The north wall of my music studio.

Even my students are so stylish, and come to their lessons looking very fly.

Dexter was wearing a striped footed pajama. His face is getting better! I presume he's just growing out of it because I'm not doing anything particularly different. He's also able to sit on his own from time to time. There is the odd face plant on the carpet, but I've discovered that if I don't act all "oh no!" about it and just pick him up and start distracting him with something happy, he hardly notices. His bald patches are also filling in. Such progress.

Dexter looks so so cute :D ps loving combo of cardi and jeans!!! x
I read reading your blog instead of paying attention to lecture with a friend of mine. She think we look alike. Weird.
Those grey boots are amazing! Where are they from?
I can't wait to ride my Pashley too. At the station every day I glance wistfully at my favorite bike lock-up spot!
I agree about the velcro pants strap, lol. That's another reason I like my Pashley.
Glad to hear that baby D. is recuperating! Next stage: teething drool.
Lorenza - Thanks!
misssable - Did you tell your friend that you WISH you looked like me? Remember what I said that one time about the watered down thing? *evil laugh*
Kelsey - The boots are from Brown's
Judy - He's been having the drool since month 4. But still no teeth!
Dexter must be eating rose buds :)
About the Kona - he's a good winter beast, but no match for Pashley or your classy outfits, for sure. I hate those ankle straps, too. I'm trying to come up with a way I can cover the chain on my Betty Foy to avoid wearing the ankle strap.
