While I was tooling around Soho I saw this guy unfolding his Brompton. He had it up and running in a flash, then rode away.

Actually, there were a lot of foldies in Manhattan in general. Glad to hear these tiny bikes are catching on. I love how they are one size fits all. So if you ever want to change to a different ride, you can always tuck one of these away and save it for guests or traveling or when you have to do a bunch of tandem bike-train riding to do.
One bike to rule them all.

I totally agree. When I got my foldie and was trying to justify buying it when I knew in a few years I'd want a big two wheeler my idea was that b/c it was one saize fits all guests could always use it. And it has been so wonderful to use when I don't bike the sorte to school I have the halfway in the trunk to do my little 3 hour errands with. And it's been wonderful for my night life in the city- jump on the train with it. Even for getting my car fixed- leave car and ride home.
I love the top pic with the design within reach sign- the brompton is design within reach for sure.
Good eye Mama Vee, and so true!
I am thinking that one day I want to get a Bike Friday for travelling. I think it'll be worth the money!
Cool, I want to test one! I don't think Bromptons are sold in Santa Barbara though. In fact, I don't recall seeing any folding bikes in local bike stores.
Last weekend Santa Barbara's main street was closed off for a car show - Wheels and Waves. Can they please close the street for a bicycle show instead?
