Guess what is the cutest thing ever? When a student of mine decides to ride his bike over to my place for his lesson, even though he lives half a block away and I can see his front door from my front door.
The other week I had actually seen Owen out on his bike with a friend and his mom. They were going to hit the trails while I was out for a nature walk with Dougal. I'm happy to see that my little student is so keen on embracing the life of active transportation at such an early age!
Here is Owen's sweet ride.

And his safety gear and gloves.

His bell to alert pedestrians and cars of his presence.

And flames on his saddle, no doubt because he goes so fast.

I am very fortunate to have a job that I wholeheartedly enjoy. All the kids and families I see every week are just the most wonderful people, it almost doesn't feel like work! Owen here even brought me fresh flowers (tulips) a few weeks ago. I mean, am I not the luckiest piano teacher ever?

Owen rode again this week and on the way home we put his books in his basket. I can see him on a Pashley Guv'nor already.

sweet.
My mom is a piano teacher in the city. I have fond memories of crowded saturdays with our apartment filled with music. Often newly learning so stumbling - but music and even at 10 I remember wandering the apartment doing my thing ( which was NOT music) enjoying the sounds and stumbles of the neighborhood kids. the "waiting room" was the bedroom and we'd hang out and chat with kids before their lessons. It was a nice moment in time before she got a job at a school or began going more to other people's houses instead of them coming to her...
anyway- you reminded me of that so I thought I woud share.
He is the cutest!
what a sweet post! :D
