Last weekend Don and I rode bikes to Edmonton Opera's production of Otello. I had another dress planned, but it was SO COLD. That spring dress has to wait. Even with a wool tuxedo blazer and trusty wooly gigantascarf I had to steal Don's overcoat for the ride home. He is very kind to me.
When I go to formal events I usually have to ditch my usual key ring. It's too big and I really don't advocate wearing shoulder bags out with dress up clothes.
But I'll see the nicest looking ladies with great formal dresses on... and oftentimes they're wearing huge shoulder bags. No! Perfectly great dresses, ruined by a bad accessory.
Shoes.

The production was really amazing. The tenor, John Mac Master, was a force to be reckoned with. And at the after party I met Thomas Macleay, the dude playing Roderigo. We bonded over our love of bike riding. Who knew!
I love that bikes are the thing we have in common.

I don't really worry about not wearing a helmet.
I DO wear a helmet 99% of the time:)
I don't often photograph myself while wearing a helmet (usually my helmet photos are when I'm actually riding).

Dottie - Thanks! I bought them at regular price, only to see that they were on sale two weeks later. Curses! But whatever. They're very versatile shoes.
I think that those shoes are "investment pieces". I'm sure that Don would agree :) Bruce always raises his eyebrows when I get a new pair. He's always like "When'd you get THOSE"?
Judy - Haha! Don reserves judgment because he KNOWS I wear every last pair.
And years ago I spent what I thought was a lot of money on a pair of black patent platform pumps. They're SO versatile. I've been wearing them since like... 2003.
