Al Fresco.

Al Fresco on 104 street was a feast for the eyes this past Saturday.

The sun was out. The street was full of people. The people looked good.

But, before I went downtown I had to drop off the Amsterdam for Karen, a new lady friend who is moving to Edmonton. She wanted to participate in the Critical Lass ride for Sunday but her bike was all packed up and in transit. She asked to borrow a ride. I delivered.

I love nice weather, but I don't like sun spots. Hat is a must.

And sandals with rhinestone apples.

Here is Dexter earlier in the day, getting ready to head out with his dad. Don was riding a bike in the pride parade so Dexter was dropped off with auntie Raffaella while I was teaching. We all met up again afterwards.

After the bike delivery I walked over to the University and took the train.

Then reconvened with friends, husband, and baby, and walked a few blocks up to party central.

I think this was the deVines wine tasting tent. I didn't go in but heard from friends over the fence that it was the deal of the century, and delicious too!

Portuguese BBQ. Smelled SO GOOD.

Girlfriends in sunglasses.

Outdoor patios!

New condos! It would be great to live on 104 street.

She looked so comfortable.

Outfit coordination, well done.

On the phone, watching the fashion show.

I just like the light in this picture.

These girls were super adorable. After the outdoor fashion show they took over the catwalk and pretended to be models.

Liked her sandals.

Dexter wears his dad's hat and no pants. Just his cloth diaper. Being a baby must be awesome.

Oh, here is a Raffaella video.

On our way home we grabbed some groceries for dinner, and ran into Jess and Dave. Hey guys!

It's so nice to see Edmonton burst with life after all the cold winter months. The snow and freezing temperatures are definitely a cross to bear, but when the weather warms up here, people just explode with appreciation. I'm glad this appreciation comes in the form of fun outdoor gatherings and colourful people watching.

Now you've got me wondering why there aren't more rhinestone apples in my life...

margo - The two boys definitely look even cuter when combined.

natalia - cool! I didn't organize the ride, but the photographer put me in front. It looks like I'm the head cheese, but it's not true!

sable - you would have fit in.

dottie - you should visit one day! Just don't come in the winter. Maybe folk fest. A lot of people come here for the wicked, wicked folk festival:)

While I did not attend the Pride Parade, I could hear it from the downtown farmers market. Lunched at the Blue Plate which was fabulous. Saturday was a good day in the city.

doesn't your hat obstruct your peripheral view ?

Ilona - I've been in love with 104 street since I was in highschool.

Dottie - Let me know when you do!

Anon - Yes, it did. I had to take it off.
