Happy Anniversary.

Guess what? Today was my wedding anniversary with Don!

I got him an 18 year old bottle of scotch and he bought me beautiful roses - yay!

This being a regular work week night, I had to work until 8 pm. We didn't have any special plans. Don and I aren't typically romantic like a lot of couples. We're not about weekend getaways and Valentines day dinners. We do nice things, but we don't really care about the dates. A birthday dinner may be a few weeks late, but who cares? Not our style to get upset about stuff like that.

Instead of couples time, my friend Elize came over to work on her Raleigh. I've had this old Raleigh in the shed for years now, waiting for the right, appreciative girl to give it to. Well I found her! Elize was thinking of commuting to work. Better for health. No need to deal with stupid traffic. A way to put a smile on her face on a daily basis. All the good things in life.

The Raleigh is a bit of a beater, though. There is some rust on it, it's pretty dirty, and it didn't have any cargo capacity.

We had this rack/pannier combo installed at redbike yesterday, and she got some flat bungee chords, a helmet, a brass bell, and a lock.

Today we embarked on cleaning the Raleigh up.

I'm really not any good at bike fixing. But a little house keeping is alright by me. Especially when I have a glass of wine to accompany the task.

Elize was a real pro with the beautification process. She was way more detailed than I was.

After we cleaned up the bike we took her for a spin around the neighbourhood. Man, Elize looks GOOD on that bike. I hope it makes he smile all summer long!

I'm over the moon about this bike getting a good home with a lovely lady. Elize and I are already planning drinks after work and weekend picnics at the park via bike.

Yay! I'm so excited to start riding to work next week. Thanks for hooking me and Raleigh up. And we should definitely continue doing anything vaguely maintenance-like with wine nearby. :)

Congrats on the anniversary - I'm sure there'll be many more!

I sense lots of good will: from your husband to you, and from you to Elize. That's the best thing about cycling.

I've been looking for those baskets. They are a dual unit right? You are so lucky redbike carries all the good stuff. I will probably have to get them from Wald online.

Happy Wedding Anniversary! Those roses are beautiful! Can't wait for mine to start blooming in my garden. :)

You asked about baby...she is doing great. We're off to LA for a little family vacation next week. I just did a little 8 month update on my blog (Kathy's Blog) if you wanna see how big she's gotten!

Looking forward to lots of new blog posts from you Sarah!
