Park(ed).

Saturday was full of sun and good times. Just the way I like it.

After work Don and I went downtown to check out the Park(ed) event. The city closed down a portion of a street and people could decorate stalls however they wanted. I basically love it whenever a street is closed, so we obviously had to go.

On the way there we cut through the farmer's market that was winding down. Ran into our friend, Ian.

Don was wearing is "fast" helmet.

One of the stalls at the Park(ed) event had lemonade.

Don and the baby.

MEC had a little tent.

Then I finally met Chris from the EBC! He was towing a serious trailer and on his way back to the bikeology festival a few blocks away.

We had to be home in time for a mini concert I was having at the bungalow, and we were cutting it close. On the way home we actually had to stop several times to say hi to people on the bike path. Though it made our timing even tighter, it was good to see so many friends out on their bikes!

When we got home Elize was waiting for her bike. So we hooked her up.

Bikes, bikes, bikes for everyone.

She rode the Raleigh home and evidently it only took around 20 minutes even though she didn't have her route planned out.

Elize is definitely going to be an appropriate advocate of girls and bicycles.

She's got the whole bright dresses thing down.

And the smile!

She set off and I got the house together just in time for the kids to arrive for their salon-style concert. Afterwards some of the girls styled Dexter's hair while we had treats. Doesn't my boy look handsome?

Car free streets, friends on bikes, and music at home. It was a good day.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! It's always good to bump into friends on bike paths. And closed-up streets are also fun. I always find that the streets look way bigger without cars :).

Hey Sarah,

I just wanted to let you know that I happened across your blog about a year ago when I began taking up biking as my first choice of commuting.

You have been a very real inspiration for helping me to embrace this lifestyle and I just wanted to thank you so much.
