Dominion Day!

Otherwise known as Canada Day. Except Chris kept correcting everybody yesterday so I have to call it by its old school title.

Holidays are great!

Dexter and I were invited to watch the silly summer parade on Leanne's balcony overlooking Whyte Avenue.

Waited for things to get started with a mocha coffee.

Horses!

Patriotic colours.

And on bikes, too.

Dexter enjoyed the view.

Mama sitas.

Okay, I am all about this "float".

Dance.

Dance.

Dance!

For those of you who don't know. I love an Indian dance party.

Afterwards we went to the New York Bagel Cafe for late lunch.

Don stopped by with festive swag he had been given. Looks good on baby D.

Later in the day we went to a very special apartment downtown. We had been very kindly invited to watch the fireworks from a killer balcony.

What a view of Edmonton's river valley!

And my two favourite bridges. The high level and also the little LRT bridge. My personal highways from north to south side.

I know it's cheesy to be excited about the sky, but prairie skies are so good.

We recently had a lot of rain so everything is quite green.

Super camera (not mine) poised to take super pictures of the fireworks.

Sky flowers!

Happy Dominion Day, everybody!

Wow looks like an exciting day in Edmonton. I did some bike maintenance and cleaned the house...

Do you call November 11th "Armistice Day" as well?

Sky flowers! Love that description. I hear all kinds of amateur sky flowers going off tonight (or are those gun shots? hard to tell in Chicago) even though it's not yet the 4th of July.
