Flurry of a Thursday.

I packed up my things and took to the mobile office.

The three main components are computer, articles, and notebook.

My pannier is the perfect size. It's less of a saddle bag because it's vinyl with hard plastic lining the inside, giving it a structure. Sort of like a big red satchel.

I rode over to Euna's half renovated place to take advantage of a built-in desk in her kid's room and also, the wi-fi and lack of little 1 year old hands reaching for my keyboard.

I made good progress!

Lots of writing and planning.

Our friends Cary and Alana have just had a baby! His name is Cooper and his parents had the good sense to get a diaper service. They were asking me what kinds of diaper covers I used for Dexter. I remembered where I got them, but not the name of the brand. So I offered to just go pick some up and bring them over. The last thing a new mom and dad need is running all over the place looking for this and that.

While we were in the neighbourhood we also stopped by Duchess to get them some treats.

Then to bosom babies to get the diaper covers.

Don spotted this chart. Finally! Some quantitative data on how cloth diapers aren't ridiculous.

After a nice visit with the new baby, we met Adam for dinner at Red Star.

I had mini burgers.

And then we went to see Inception! And my mom's picture is still up at the theatre.

Hi mom!

I ate popcorn and Malteasers.

I would highly recommend seeing the movie. Raffaella described it as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but as an action movie. It's a pretty apt description!

Afterward we scurried to the train station in the pouring rain. Luckily I had my kid-sized alligator umbrella. The perfect size for somebody who is short. No more poking people in the face.

Bike and train. My magical transport combination.

Sarah, does your ibook have a glossy screen. I'm about to buy a new one and I can't decide whether btwn matte or glossy. Does the glossy's glare bother you much?

Dag - my MacBook is pretty old but it is indeed glossy! I certainly like it:) the gloss quickly acquires little scratches and such, but in time they all sort of blend together. It sounds horrible but it isn't.

Don has always had the silver PowerBooks and those are matte and also nice.

I cloth diapered both my kids. Made an initial investment of way more than I needed (wahm dipes were just starting to come on the scene - so much amazingness!) I've never actually sat down and done the math, as it can be done a dozen ways, but I'm sure my two late potty trainers coupled with the same set of cloth dipes, saved us a small fortune.

Doh! I meant Macbook. My Powerbook screen died so it's time to buy a new one. I'll probably get a MacBook Pro as I need to run design programs on it though I prefer the white casing the MacBooks come in. I would love an iMac but then I wouldn't be able to read your blog from the couch or in bed. :)

why aren't you guys holding your bag the same way? lol. my mom used cloth diapers, but stopped because of the lack of laundry service. nice to see that they're making it a lot easier!

MandG - I'm thinking the same thing about using them for two kids. And then I can either give them to somebody else with babies (if they're so inclined) or have the best rags, for life.

Fiona - Haha, it's my mama!

Ridonkulus - It doesn't matter how I hold my bag, nothing I do will ever be good enough for mom

:)

dag - I also prefer the white. Just so clean looking. We recently replaced our living room television with a huge iMac because I was watching most of my TV and movies from the net, anyway. This way I have a much bigger place to edit photos and to work from. Or I turn it into a "TV" when I need.

I'm so jealous! That would be my ideal set up someday (we don't have cable). My bf suggested I buy an iMac for when I want to work at a desk and an ipad for reading Girls and Bicycles in bed because I could get both for the price of the top of the line MacBook Pro. I'm just not sure I buy into the ipad hype.

dag - I thought the iPad was too fad-like too... but Don has one and it's pretty sweet. I don't use it but all the people I know who have them, LOVE them.

The other reason I got the desktop was for Dexter. I can't see it being all that great for D to have to take my MacBook around to play games or look things up. This way the iMac is just out in the living room and it's fair game.

I love how when I suggest buying things of this technological nature, Don never resists:)
