Risotto.

After a whole weekend of suppers out, it was time to do some home cooking. Don and I are not the big-grocery-hauls on weekend sort of couple. Too busy. I'll usually ride out a few times a week to get my shop on with seniors and other moms who are likewise available during the day.

Tonight's plan for dinner was making something with stuff we had laying around. Risotto! It's very easy to do, you just have to be ready to stir for around 20 minutes. I use a recipe my friend Crystal gave me ten years ago.

Decided to enjoy some Two Hands Barossa Moscato (sparkling wine) while cooking. It's very yummy, and I am lucky that I have students who give me such tasty gifts at Christmas and year-end.

Dinner!

Man, Dexter loves to eat risotto. It is a wonderful baby food.

We had a very ordinary day. Naps. Food. And bath.

Hot tip about gifts that are great for kids. The good old stacking rainbow cups! Dexter puts his snacks in there. He builds his towers. They're wicked bath toys. And they're so cheerful. These cups are courtesy of another student gift for Dexter, last Christmas.

Thanks, Katie!

Now Dexter is tucked into bed and Miss Sarah does a little blogging and will enjoy an evening of vids. As much as I like going out, an equal part of me needs to have quiet home-time in order to rejuvenate.

A happy Sunday!

Are you all caught up on vampire diaries? I don't remember the Rose character at all that reappeared in the last episode.

D looks so happy! My sister & I loved our stacking cups too. We used them for all kinds of things. And definitely in the bath. Simple toys are great!

Sable - you missed one! Like the episode where Elena is all kidnapped and stuff?

And yes, Internet. I watch the Vampire Diaries. Judge away! I dig myself teen vampire drama, though remain a Buffy fan at heart.

Tricot - I'm trying to find the cups for other kids, but am never at the you store! So classic. They would be great as little pen and doodad holders on top of a desk, for grown ups.

Oh, that poor cork! You need a nice Campagnolo corkscrew! I've probably opened thousands of bottles with the one I got in 1984 and it hasn't failed me yet.

Road - Yeah, I sort of killed it:) Perhaps Campagnolo will be on my Xmas list!
