Bob Boutilier has been doing question and answer on the city's blog, about transportation in our city. I am really impressed by all the activity and it's interesting to read the kinds of questions people are asking.
Even if you don't live in Edmonton, I'm sure the challenges we face are akin to some other mid-size cities out there.

I will go take a look ... since I know Ottawa has some same issues.
I was really stunned and having fun with the fact that Ottawa has a "sister" city relationship with Amsterdam - since the Princess was born here during the war and hence the gift of tulips every year and our tulip festival ... but I digress... the greatest gift they gave us I think is Ottawa's amazing bike culture. Even if it is still too "sport" focused for me ... still ...
