Dim Sum.

Weekends are usually extra busy for dim sum, since you know... it's the weekend! We braved the crowds and the wait anyway and decided on a family outing to iSQUARE for dim sum with a view. I can't remember what level we were on (there seems to be a different restaurant on each floor) but I do remember we were on the perfect perch for viewing the upper floors of the Peninsula just across the way.

Even though we booked a late lunch we still had to wait. My uncle Albert quickly found a seat and proceeded to entertain himself with his iPhone.

Meanwhile the staff were busy getting people seated and all the orders out.

I've waited tables before and I am terrible with the round trays. This guy, however, is pro.

This is my auntie Helen that I am staying with (my mom's older sister).

Here is Alison, my most excellent cousin. She has been a valuable resource during our stay and gives very detailed and informed advice on where to eat, how to get places, who to call... you name it. She is actually a lot like me, but with much better Chinese.

This place had western style tea cups instead of Chinese ones.

My dad used to tell me that drinking all the tea was to balance out the large quantity of deep fried food.

I tried to drink a lot of tea.

The usual yummy stuff.

Afterward we did a bunch of snooping around the Tsim Sha Tsui area, shopped at MUJI, and stumbled upon a wedding ceremony while hanging out on a veranda somewhere near Harbour City.

It was a very chill day, literally and figuratively. I can't believe I've gotten so used to the climate here already and I had to buy a plaid wool blazer from MANGO (so sad, I know) and I've been wearing pants and a scarf these past few days. Wah!

mmm dim sum. Wonder if you're gonna be sick of dim sum when you get back...

Anyway, looks like your body has adjusted to the HK weather! Have a safe trip to Thailand!
