Count Down to the Holidays

December 19, 2012

Knitted

ACK, I can't believe I've just got two more days of work and then it's break time for the holidays! In lieu of said holidays, I've been busy with various preparations such as coordinating logistics for out of town friends and preparing for our solstice party.

Amidst all this, there are always moments to take pictures of my cute baby Alice in a homemade sweater.

And to have a tea break and enjoy the home made Christmas cookies from my students!

Icing

Dexter has been a very good helper, entertaining himself and eating snacks while I host my student recitals.

Mama's Helper

Managed to snag a spot at Corso32 for a pre-Christmas dinner with friends.

Panna Cotta

And Don's contribution to our solstice party festivities include shovelling off our front patio and creating a wind barrier so that we can better enjoy the winter bonfire!

Wind Break

Speaking of Don, the man rode his bike into work today in -15C/5F. It was pretty crispy out there, but he had time and didn't have to be in a suit today so... c'est la vie!

How have you guys been embracing the cold? How are your holiday preparations going? Am I the only one who is trying to keep everything as low key as possible?

Alice is so cute! It's in the 60s here in Nashville, so all that shoveling snow business looks like another world. Feels weird to be so warm so close to Christmas. I'll have to count on your blog for my winter fix. :)

Oh man, Alice is soooo cute in the photo! And what a great sweater, who made that? Did you? I'm currently working on my skills to someday, hopefully!, be able to knit something as adorable as that.

And mad props to Don for riding in those temps!

Happy Holidays to your beautiful family, dear friend!
