Last weekend was the last weekend in a long time when Don and I aren't scheduled to travel or attend lots of work functions. Some friends put it very nicely the other night, you want to have the correct balance of introvert and extrovert time. Although I think I am by nature an extrovert, I really value quiet time (hard to come by these days) to recharge and reconstitute.
This is all to say I don't have many fun-time photos to share of the weekend, since photography isn't the first thing on my mind when I am watching documentaries on Netflix while wearing yoga pants.
Speaking of documentaries! I watched the Business of Being Born
I was totally inspired by Happy People: A Year in the Taiga
And a few weeks ago I watched Up the Yangtze. Basically, if you want a glimpse of what's happening in mainland China right now, and why I feel really conflicted about it all... this documentary pretty much well spells it all out.
Oh, and let's not forget about the fascinating Freakonomics!
In other ordinary weekend news, I picked up my kids from grandma/grandpa's and we went grocery shopping. I thought baby Alice would wake up with all of the transport, but she just kept on sleeping...
And I did get a chance to have a tasty dinner (Corso32 again, just worked out that I got to go twice these past few weeks), with an long time lady friend of mine.
Biking Dexter to school, lounging around and recharging the batteries after a week of tending sick children... things are low key for the moment, but all in anticipation for very busy and sunny days ahead!
