Let's flashback two weeks to the Friday in March when we landed in Philadelphia for a weekend of friends on new turf. Because of the way flights worked, it was just easier to land in Philly and then take a train into Manhattan. We figured since it was easier to fly to Philly, why not get Dan & Leanne to come meet us for a weekend exploring a new city?
We did lots of strolling around to the impressive city hall; visited a few markets; played architectural games where you guess the buildings from Rittenhouse Square, from oldest to newest; went to the Rodin Museum; thoroughly enjoyed the Philadelphia Museum of Art; saw the liberty bell; drank lots of cider at places like The City Tavern; ate cheesesteak (whiz & onions); and did a bunch of eagle spotting. There sure is a lot of talk about freedom and liberty going on down there.
It would be great to visit again when things are greener and warmer, but it was still super fun to romp around brown-Philly with good friends. Sometimes it's not about a city being all perfect for your arrival, it's your fun attitude when you're in it!
