When you work full time; and your husband works more than full time; and your hours are strange so you can't use a daycare or a day home; and when your usual babysitter is on vacation; and you're not sure if you're using semicolons properly... you get a little help from your friends.
I have the pleasure of having my good friend, Kris, act as "Manny" (with occasional side kick, Jag) for the next little while!
After Dexter was picked up from school and had his snack, I came out of the studio to find all four of the above (two grown men, a preschooler, and a toddler) under the dining room table playing spaceship. Pretty awesome.
Unrelated to child care: I am also really into my Mother's Day gift from Don. I wear Burberry Brit most of the time, but the sheer version is nice for summer!
In other news, Dexter and Alice both went to Little Anya's Dreamland this week while I was at Pilates. Afterwards we had waffles at The High Wheel.
And my week has been full of clingy, sobbing, intense Alice. She is hitting her one year separation milestone right on time. I am her favourite person and when I am out of sight (which is often, especially when I am working)... man, cover your ears.
Good thing most of my students and parents aren't much phased by the antics. She settles down after a few minutes and can usually be distracted once I am gone. And, it's all temporary... at least that's what I keep telling myself.
Look at that intense stare. She knows what she wants!
Here's wishing you a weekend full of glorious, uninterrupted sleep. I hereby implore you to wish me the same!
