Was downtown with the kids today, doing our Art Gallery/City Hall/Churchill Square lunch thing.
Ran into Wade and Raffaella having lunch in the beer gardens and enjoying the outdoor stage (Edmonton Jazz Festival). Dexter had been noticing the wacky carousel in the square while we were sitting on a ledge and eating his Thai food truck lunch.
I had my hands full with the baby, so Wade pulled a surrogate dad and helped a little dude out!
The carousel is peopled-powered. Passengers climb into the carts, then two guys grab the back of the carts and start pushing! Very DIY. Love it.
Next time I want to have a turn too.
It makes me pretty happy when my city feels sort of like a small town. Friends are everywhere, ready to play!
