Flashback Friday...

January 10, 2014

Can you tell I'm not back into the full swing of things? All week long I only felt compelled to take out my camera once! I was running a bunch of errands one afternoon and by 2 pm had realized I had forgotten to eat lunch, so I stopped in at Zenari's downtown to have a chicken sandwich, latté, and carrot cake.

As I was eating, it occurred to me that it was the first time I have sat down and eaten off of a plate, by myself, for longer than I can remember. What an unexpected treat!

Now, please tell me I am not the only person feeling the fatigue? I am sleeping normal hours, but feel as though I could nap all day long. Getting the kids ready and out the door seems to take twice as long as usual. I am dragging my feet for no apparent reason... how perplexing!

I'll work on getting back in the saddle over the weekend - There is a student newspaper conference in town, which has brought back some dear old friends whom I am ecstatic to see. It also brings back lots of warm, fuzzy memories of my old student newspaper days.

We're also going to check out the Deep Freeze Byzantine Winter Festival with the kids! There will be street hockey, wagon rides, a pig of a spit, deep freezer races, curling, an ice slide, musical performances, and much more.

See you on 118 Ave!
